Once we play Clemson and get into SEC play we will know what kind of pitching we have. Hard to get a good reading when we are playing smaller schools.

Hill and Morris both have top 5 round talent. Hopefully they can play to their potential this year.

Adam Hill: 3-6 in 14 appearances, 14 starts, 77.0 IP, 87 K, 39 BB, 3.06 ERA
(28 career appearances through two seasons, all starts, 143.1 IP, 159 K, 67 BB, 3.26 ERA)

Cody Morris: 3-2 in 10 appearances, 10 starts, 39.1 IP, 47 K, 8 BB, 3.66 ERA

Ridge Chapman: (final year at Spartanburg Meth. College) 5-5 in 13 appearances, 13 starts, 69.2 IP, 98 K, 35 BB, 2.84 ERA

Hill sort of evened things out during his first 2 seasons: he got a lot of offense as a freshman which helped against his high ERA, while as a sophomore he got very little run support despite pitching strong for most of the season. He'll need to stay on the mound a bit longer as the Friday Ace, if possible.

Morris also didn't last long in his starts, but coming off of Tommy John gave good reason for it. He is the type of attacking pitcher I think Coach Kingston and Coach Meade are looking for - lots of strikes, very few walks.

Chapman played at a lower level the past 2 years, but he also looks like he had little run support with a sub-3 ERA. A high K/IP ratio there, but again it was JUCO.....

Hill needs to be more aggressive in the zone . The last 2 Years he would avg 20 pitches an inning. I hope he strikes out fewer haters and gets more 0-1 ground outs and pop ups. Love to see our pitchers throwing late in the game.

Agree, needs better control, become a strike thrower. He has good stuff.
