Marinated in pickle juice. That's how I do my wild turkey nuggets, but I use Carolina Cajun breader from Adluh.

I'd open a Bojangles out here in the west. There is nothing like it out here. People would lose their dang minds...

I had lunch today at a Bojangles and even though it was good and they do give a "Veterans Discount", I think a good Maryland Fried Chicken has them beat.

If time was more on my side, I would love to open a Maryland Fried Chicken in my neck of the woods to show people how good of a product that they have.

There are a bunch of Little Ceaser's in the Middle East. I don't think they care about their religious ties as much as CFA.

Default Re: If You Could Open A Fast Food Franchise

I have three choices that I would offer;

Central Park
Low overhead as they operate out of a very small facility.
Great food, fast service, as they only sell drive thru, and they have one lane on each side of the building. There used to be one in both Hartsville and Darlington but both have closed. The only one still operating, that I am aware of, is in Conway. It always has a line of cars when I go by there.
Stopped there on the way back from the beach, a couple of weeks ago.

In-N-Out Burger.
Good food and I think the Old Car Culture would love it. It would go over very well in "Known" tourist locals, like Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge. Las Vegas has multiple In-N-Out burger joints. The chain does t-shirts with throw back era cars, highlighting the 50's style restaurant. Founded in California, it appears to have only reached eastward as far as Texas.

Yogi Bear Chicken
This used to be a small chain but the only one I know of now is in Hartsville. As the name suggests, it is a chicken place but it uses honey in the cooking process. I prefer it over KFC by a wide margin.

I would go with ‘Cook Out’. They serve a variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches that are all very tasty for being fast food. They offer a variety of sides, including real good hush puppies. You can get a sandwich, two sides, a drink, and still get out cheaper than McDonalds. They’re always friendly, fast and very clean.

Either a McDonalds or a Chick-Fil-A. Owning either one of these is just like owning a money printing machine.

I believe chik-fil-a you can only make about $80,000 as a manager owner. The real value begins when you get multiple stores

Unless they’ve changed, Chick FilA only allows you to buy into one restaurant.

And again, unless they’ve changed, “owner” isn’t a good term. “Manager” is. They expect the franchise owner to be on site hands on running everything.

I’d looked into it several years ago, at that time technically you didn’t “own” the restaurant. There were a lot of technicalities, you couldn’t just decide to sell it to someone else, you couldn’t decide to retire and pass it on to family members, lots of rules to go by.

Freaking love this place, so much good food for so little money. Damn good shakes too. Not all of them are so clean though, Freedom Drive in Charlotte is rough around the edges, but I still go there.

I don't know if they sell franchises or not, but the "Wing King - a.k.a. - Wing Bonz" in Rock Hill, SC makes the best wings I have ever had and I have had them all over SC and Jawja. Down our way there are a lot of places that sell wings, but they are usually small and taste fair at best.

Apparently the criteria for owning a Papa John's is comfort dropping racial slurs on conference calls.

You are most likely right. I have not seen one since I was a young lad. My grandmother would take me and my brother and she had a 1959 Ford Fairlane/Galaxy and her back side was almost as big as most cars today. My brother and I always got hamburgers and fries and grandma got the chicken basket. This was before McDonald's and the others had invaded the South.

I had to wait 10 minuets in the pull up line to get a 1/4 lber with no bottom bun. I don’t even know how you can do that without a concerted effort to fk up. I still ate it. McDonalds just comes with a low standard of expectations.
