You can't trust grades from one school to the next with all the fake classes many schools allow for student athletes. Maybe they should have a community service program they should have to put so many hours in, in order to qualify for the immediate transfer. I shouldn't be too easy to transfer but if you want it enough and you help your community in the process then I think it could be to allow it.

I would favor kids getting one free transfer. After the free transfer then you would have to sit

You would have kids constantly transferring out, and it would make it hard to build quality depth.

I feel like this would also benefit a lot of successful schools. Athletes may simply transfer to Alabama or Ohio State, just so they could possibly have the chance of winning a championship. I don't know about this one...
Yup and yup. It would destroy whatever parity there is. The Bamas of the world could just let players do their redshirt year elsewhere. They could basically use other schools as their minor leagues.

I imagine this will get tons of pushback from most coaches/schools.

No restrictions, limitations, or sitting out just tells me that recruiting will continue into college. Saban will pick skill players that excel in college and recruit them as well.

This is eventually leading to pay for play contracts.

You only have to sit out a year if you transfer in football, basketball, baseball, or men's ice hockey. It's always been that way. If you can transfer in every single other sport without sitting out a year (provided some other rules, such as academics are met), it seems more than a little melodramatic to say this will ruin football.

It will. Because then the Saban's of the world will recruit kids all through college once they see how good they are.

There would have to be HEAVY penalties against programs who communicated with kids on scholarship at another program.

There should be no communication between players under scholarship with one program and coaches, representatives from other programs. A player should be suspended for 6 games or something along those lines if violating this rule. Programs violating the rule should be docked scholarships.

I also think there would have to be a timeline for players to transfer without having to sit out. Perhaps they could only avoid sitting out a year if they signed a scholarship with another program by the end of the calendar year. That gives their current school some time to adjust for recruiting. Otherwise, schools would be screwed by players transferring close to or after NSD.
