![]() Traveling upsTate to take on Clemson and try to get back a Palmetto Series point
http://www.gamecocksonline.com/sport...021017aab.html No. 21 South Carolina women’s tennis takes on in-state rival, Clemson, for the 52nd time on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. in Clemson, S.C. at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center. The Gamecocks are off to a 5-1 start following a 4-1 road win over Virginia last Sunday. Unranked Clemson enters the match with a 2-3 record that includes losses to Virginia Tech and No. 6 Georgia. Head Coach Kevin Epley: “Playing Clemson is always a competitive, in-state battle and we expect some intensity out there on Saturday. We are in a close race with them in the Palmetto Series, so we are going to make every effort to do our part and bring all we can to the match.” Certified SC Grown Palmetto Series The winner of Saturday’s match will earn that school another point in the Certified SC Grown Palmetto Series between South Carolina and Clemson. The Gamecocks currently trail 5-6 in the 2016-17 series. In the inaugural Palmetto Series (2015-16), the Gamecocks took the title, 10-5. QUICK HITS: CLEMSON

![]() Yes, was following along and we won 5 of the first 6 singles sets so we were in control, but they came back in 4 of those 5 to tie it at a set apiece, so it really was much closer than the 7-0 score would indicate. Not that we'll admit that to any upsTater who cares. Just kidding, of course no upsTater cares, since they lost

![]() Great come from behind road win at #20 aTm 4-2
![]() http://www.gamecocksonline.com/sport...030317aab.html No. 19 South Carolina women’s tennis defeated No. 20 Texas A&M on the road to open SEC play. The Gamecocks improved to 9-2 in dual play and 1-0 in SEC play. The Aggies dropped to 8-4 with the less. South Carolina lost a hotly contested doubles point to fall behind 1-0 heading into singles. Auburn won courts two and three to claim the point. Domenica Gonzalez and Eva Paalma held off Brigit Folland and Caroline Dailey to win 6-2. A few moments later, Macarena Olivares and Stefania Hristov took a 6-3 victory over Silvia Chinellato and Rachel Rohrabacher for the clincher. In singles play, the Aggies doubled their lead with a quick victory on court two, but the Gamecocks found their rhythm to take four straight. Chinellato (119) cut A&M’s lead to one with her decisive 6-0, 7-6 triumph over Gavrilovska at the No. 4 spot. Paige Cline (110) got the score even at two a apiece, grinding out tough-fought sets in her favor to win 6-4, 7-5. Freshman Mia Horvit (100) gave the Gamecocks their first lead of the night, taking down her second ranked opponent of the season with a straight-set win over No. 45 Rachel Pierson 7-6, 6-3. Hadley Berg stretched her win-streak to 10 and clinched the SEC opener with her 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win, only her second to go to the third set this season, on court five making a 4-2 final.

![]() The women are tied 3-3 with Kentucky in the SEC tournament quarterfinals . Only singles match remaining is Brigit Folland of USC vs Morgan Chumney of Kentucky . Folland came from behind to take the first set 7-5 , and she leads in the second set 2-0 . No video that I know of . Just looking at the live scoring .

![]() USC is selected to host a regional . This will be going on at the same time as the SEC track & field tourney , so get your tickets for both . I think exams will be over and a lot of the students gone , so there should be plenty of room in the parking garage .
