Netflix Announces New Series Based On The Witcher

Netflix is planning to create a new show which will be based on the immensely popular books and video games that make up the Witcher Saga. The games were originally based on a series of eight novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski. Sapkowski stated that:

“I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing."

Sapkowski is usually very strict about adaptations of his novels, so allowing Netflix to produce this is a big step forward for him and the Witcher series as a whole. Tomas Baginski — who has directed the intro movies for all three Witcher games — will direct at least one episode per season. The game is well known for its immersive and intense scenes so this will immediately have fans salivating for more information.

Nice, now it's time to see who they can get to cast in each role. The last film adaptation didn't do to well, but Netflix usually does a good job at doing shows.

They better not mess this up! For the gamers who haven't had a chance to play the Witcher 3, I really recommend you play it.. The expansions are also insanely good. My only complaint was that it had to end.
