You all do realize PJ can still get a degree, right? Leaving for the NBA does not prevent him from receiving his education.

Sure, they can come back to school, but more often than not, they don't come back. There are far more "snakes" in the ears of these young men than those who would see them do well for themselves. So, they end up broke, and fade into obscurity.

I'd be careful following any of Calipari's "philosophy's." Calipari is a used car salesman. He'd sell his own mother a lemon.
You are right that staying in school is not irresponsible in and of itself, and I don't think anyone is suggesting such. However, if someone told your son, you can stay in college, or you can drop out and I'll give you $10 million dollars. Which is the better path to financial security? You seem to imply that without four years of maturation in college, the person would blow the $10 million, and be in a horrible financial situation. You might be right in any particular case, but I can guarantee you if you were to look at 1000 nba players 20 years past leaving college, and 1000 college athletes who never went professional 20 years later, and on average the guys who went pro are going to be in a better financial situation. Then when you add in the fact that those who went pro could come back and get their degree for free, there's basically no downside. If your goal is financial security, the "most" responsible thing to do with these two choices, is to take the money.

Read today that pj had the worst plus minus in game two of 5 on 5 at the combine yesterday and only shot 10 for 25 from 3 in testing. Hopefully he can bounce back with private workouts but him signing an agent doesn't seem like it was the right move.

there was also a story in the local rag a few days back that had two draft "experts" giving their take on both players. they both had sin as a fringe 1st rounder and pj as a fringe 2nd rounder. sin measured a hair under 6'5 in shoes, not great height but adequate for a shooting guard, 6'10" wingspan pretty good. pj just under 6'7 in shoes, 6'11" wingspan.

reportedly pj shot 2-11 in that game. i think pj's ceiling is as a starting shooting guard and hopefully his floor is as a combo guard off the bench, thats probably best case scenario for him as a rookie, but if his shot doesnt improve enough that will also be his ceiling. there was coverage on espn2 from 3-7 yesterday, dont know about today.

more details from 247, sin didnt shoot great, 3-8, but not poorly. got to the line 4-5, and grabbed 7 rebounds with his team winning by 18.

Dozier made SC top 10 with a big dunk in the combine.

I sure hope they both are first round picks; that would be awesome for them and for our future recruiting.
