Frink committed to SC tonight.

Not very much online in terms of highlights. As for what I saw, appears to be a below the rim type. Highlights showed a few decent passes out of the post, albeit most of this against much smaller competition.

Yeah he is not a high level athlete. I am worried that we are going to continue to fall behind the rest of the SEC talent wise. I keep hearing how players and everyone loves FM but when it comes to recruiting it certainly does not appear to be reality. Anyhow maybe Frink can be a good one in time I guess we will see. Other than some interest from Georgetown his offers were low mid major types. He is a 2 star recruit on most sites.

We needed a big man with a little girth and coordination. In terms of talent, he doesn't really separate us from any team in the SEC though. Other teams are getting better players.

I'm a little surprised Frink didn't visit Georgetown before making a decision. But he said he liked USC and likes the SEC, so that settled it for him, I guess. Frank liked him enough to offer a scholarship, and that's good enough for me. Looking forward to seeing his skills. I expect our bigs to be the best group Frank has had at USC.

I think Frink will give us some good minutes off the bench next year. He's the type of player that will develop in the program. Replacing him with Gueye is a huge step up in talent.

His offer list is similar to that of Justin Minaya; I think he had a pretty doggone good freshman year.

Minaya graduated early. Everyone new this kid was graduating. He is a 2 star for a reason. I appreciate all Gamecocks but lets not get carried away and act like he is a difference maker. He is another project but that is what FM typically signs.

Frank offering a guy a scholarship is no longer good enough for me. We bring in a few players every year just to tell a couple of them to hit the road because they were never good enough to play on this level to begin with. Literally happens every year.

I use offers as the measuring stick for players in all sports. Not stars, not someone's opinion, not a Coaches opinion. High level schools offer high level kids. His offers speak volumes of his talent level as viewed by all other D1 Coaches out their looking for players. It is what it is. Can he prove them wrong - yes he can. Is it highly likely he does - I say doubtful.

Minaya didn't graduate early. He was a senior in high school last year. He was considering going to a prep school instead of college so he could probably get some offers from some bigger name schools.

Georgetown and Patrick Ewing offered - he should know something about big men. He is not as athletic as the last 6'9' big man that we got from Roselle Catholic (Silva), but he does have some strength and good fundamentals. He will need to get stronger and get rid of some baby fat, but he has a nice outside shot and - gasp! - hits free throws.

Frink is a classic under the radar guy because he played with a 6' 11" Center/McDonalds All American that is going to LSU, Nas Reid. But he looks like a team player that rebound and do a little scoring. Similar to Haase in terms of size and skillset.

Good pick-up.

This is true I guess I should have said Prep but most thought he was not going to be available till after his Prep year. You got me. Prep not HS.

I am cool if you are happy with Frink bro. I was hoping we could get some high level recruits like the rest of the SEC is landing. I guess you can call him under the radar which is hard to believe with all the other talent on his HS Team. You don't think its odd his HS Team had high level D1 Schools at most their game and none offered him. Just for the record Ewing is struggling with his own recruiting so a Georgetown offer does not carry the weight it used to. I hope the kid pans out we will see.

He is supposed to be an athletic 4 which we haven’t had in a long time, and has a good outside shot.

Speaking of recruiting, here is the recruiting rankings for Villanova that has played in finals for 3 years in a row.
2012 - 27
2013 - 36
2014 - 48
2015 - 29
2016 - 45
2017 - 28
