I'm actually more worried about our offense than our pitching, given what we lose. The pitching will be fine.

Pitching will be fine. Logan, Vlod, and Gilreath will all be a lot better next season after going through a full off season of conditioning and training. Coyne, Bridges, and Shook also got a lot of experience this year and showed some good stuff. A few other young arms on the roster that got brief stints. Pitching will be a strength next season because of the experience they have gotten and will get this season. Meade handles the bullpen and game situation pretty decently, too. (Peterson was gushing on a number of occasions over the young arms we had this week)

Yeah, remember Meade didn't get to go through the fall practice with the team. He wasn't hired to replace Meyers until November last year.

Conference tournaments are always skewed toward the top seeds, that's why there's very little rest for the lower ones.

At least we will be rested for the NCAAT, which is a better format for us.

Don`t matter who is pitching if infielders can`t make good throws to first base, sad but true,

Ironically; We have gone 0-2 or 1-2 (1-2 3 times, 0-fer 5 times) at best when we have been the higher seed going back to 2010. The only time since 2010 we have won more than one game was last year. We went 3-2 and made it to the semi's as the 11 seed.

You do realize that we have the 5th ranked fielding percentage in the nation, and Row, Tolbert, and Bride all have percentages at or over 0.976, right? Our defense (especially our infield defense) has been outstanding and one of the main reasons that we've been as successful as we have been this year. And, yes, it did matter who was pitching - 8 walks in a game (LSU had 2) plus 2 wild pitches is inexcusable.

Y'all get that rational thinking and those facts out of here. They have no place in this debate.

What cost us the game was the 2nd inning when they scored their 2 runs. The count was 2-1 or 2-2 and Hunter set up on the inside, but Hill threw a perfect strike on the outside that was called a ball. This is where I like that MLB has the strike zone on live games. It holds the umps more accountable. Don't get me wrong, if a pitcher can paint the corner and it's just off, I'm cool with that being called (except when I was playing). But this old school "if the catcher is set up on this side, but you throw it on that side, it's a ball because you missed the local" is garbage. The next pitch (which I believe was also extremely close) was called ball 4. He later came around to score with 2 outs.

The next batter pops one behind Tolbert, but Olsen was playing a foot off the warning track and had no chance of getting there. As a former infielder, I completely understand why Tolbert stopped. You keep running and running and you just know the outfielders are getting close. I don't know what kind of defensive call that was, but there's no reason any outfielder at any point of any game should be playing that deep. Even "no doubles" depth shouldn't be as deep as Olsen was. If he's an any normal depth, he makes that play, inning over they score 0.
